About Gabriela Garner, Director, Product Marketing for EMC SourceOne, Information Intelligence Group, EMC Corporation
Garner is the director of product marketing in the Information Intelligence Group, a division of EMC. In her role, she is responsible for developing product marketing strategies and plans for the EMC SourceOne family of information governance products which include archiving, compliance and e-discovery.
Garner brings to EMC over 20 years of experience in the messaging and compliance markets with expertise in product management, product marketing and business development. For the past nine years, she was steeped in e-mail management, compliance and e-discovery which included seven years at ZANTAZ/Autonomy leading business development and various aspects of marketing. Garner brings strength in both start-up environments as well as established global companies. Additionally, much of her career has involved cloud solutions for messaging and compliance as well as experience in the software industry. Garner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from St. Mary’s College of California and an MBA with emphasis in Marketing from California State University, East Bay.
About Sheila Childs, Research Director, Gartner
Sheila Childs is a research director in Gartner's Storage Strategies and Technologies group focusing on information life cycle management, archiving and data protection.
Ms. Childs has 27 years of experience in the IT industry, including senior-level positions in software engineering, product management, product strategy development, product marketing, and customer services and support. She came to Gartner from EMC, where she was director of software product marketing for compliance and archiving products, including the newly launched SourceOne suite of products.
Prior to EMC, Ms. Childs held positions at Legato, OTG Software and BMC Software. In addition to expertise in compliance and archiving, Ms. Childs has extensive experience in backup and recovery. She has held multiple leadership positions in the Storage Networking Industry Association, including chairman of the board of directors from 2002 through 2004 and chair of the organization's Data Management Forum from 2004 to 2005.
