Establishing an Always-On Data Warehouse for Mission-Critical Applications

Sponsor: Aster Data Systems
Featured Analyst Firm: Gartner, Inc.
Speakers: Donald Feinberg, Mayank Bawa
Type: Video (26 minutes)

Today’s data warehouses need to be “always-on.” Critical business operations rely on data warehouses to be always on. Loads and queries are happening continuously. Maintenance windows are shrinking. But how can you ensure that the stress of running an always-on warehouse doesn’t overwhelm your team or your budget? Watch this new program now and find out.

Take a look at the latest innovations and analytic databases with two leading industry experts, Donald Feinberg, VP Distinguished Analyst from featured analyst firm, Gartner, Inc., and Mayank Bawa, CEO of Aster Data Systems. They’ll explore the challenges of managing and querying, loading, scaling, and recovering data warehouses, while maintaining 100% uptime.

Learn how to sustain a database that’s able to survive hardware failures and continue working even as servers crash within the cluster. Learn how to ensure that common administrative tasks can be done live on the production warehouse. And learn about the most important evaluation criteria when selecting a database for your critical business operations.

Success - MySpace Utilizes Aster Data
MySpace, one of the most popular Internet sites in the US, is an online community that lets you meet friends, and share photos, journals and interests with a growing network of mutual friends. MySpace uses web server data to understand the consumption patterns of their content and features, and increase the user engagement on their network. MySpace works with Aster to successfully collect data from thousands of web servers (about two terabytes every day) and bring it into the Aster cluster that is running on 100 plus nodes, in near real-time.

Watch this new program and learn how Aster can work for you. Hear about the 130 terabytes of data Aster currently manages on their 100 nodes, making it, by any standard, one of the biggest data warehouse deployments that the world has seen.

Be part of the success. Watch this program now and learn how.
